Meet Lauren, LMHC
My Personal Philosophy: There are times in life when it’s easy to lose sight of your own strength—when self-doubt, fear, or old patterns make it hard to move forward. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel supported in reconnecting with your confidence and making choices that truly reflect who you are and what matters most to you. In our work together, you’re in the driver’s seat—I'm here as a steady guide to help you navigate the road. I'm especially passionate about helping people understand how their past experiences may be showing up in the present, often in ways that feel confusing or overwhelming. While pain, anxiety, and fear are part of being human, they don’t have to hold you back from building a life filled with meaning, joy, and hope. If any of this speaks to you—and you're feeling stuck or sensing that something in your life isn’t working—I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you begin this journey.
My Clinical Self: I believe meaningful, lasting change happens when therapy is grounded in proven, evidence-based approaches. In our work together, I draw from a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), person-centered therapy, and a trauma-informed lens—always adapting to meet your unique needs and goals. I also pay close attention to the mind-body connection, exploring how emotional pain and past trauma often show up in the body through tension, fatigue, or other physical symptoms. Healing isn’t just about changing thoughts—it’s about becoming more attuned to your whole self. My experience across a range of settings has taught me the importance of flexibility and presence. I see therapy as a collaborative process—you bring the insight and lived experience, and together we create a space where your voice and your body’s wisdom lead the way.
Education and Training: I graduated with my Masters degree in mental health counseling from the University at Albany in 2021. I received my mental health counseling licenses in NY and TX in 2023 before going on to become a level II credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselor. I’ve undergone extensive training on grief, and am working toward becoming certified in EMDR (stress and trauma treatment method). I’m very confident in my ability to empathize and support others through difficult life circumstances. I love what I do, and I’d love to work with you!
